Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Sims A. and Frances Brewington Boland. He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Gary Russ Cheverolet. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, Korean War.

Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Tim Boland of Columbia and Rodney Gilmer of Anderson, two daughters, Janie Lindley of Greenwood and Joyce Waters of Honea Path, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Mac Jones officiating.
