Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Spears Gambrell and Ruth E. Lancaster Gambrell Lollis. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Chiquola Mfg.

Surviving are one son, Robert Cowart and wife Vickie of Ware Shoals, two daughters, Frankie Johnson and husband Jerry of Honea Path, Linda Cothran and husband Faron of Ware Shoals, a brother, Malcom Gambrell of Simpsonville, two sisters, Mary Ellen Drake and Bobbie Sullivan both of Honea Path, eighteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Larry J. Cowart, and three daughters, Sandra Jean O’Cain, Glenda Susan Rice, and Brenda Joyce Hinton.

Memorial services will be held 2PM Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating.
