Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Edna Haynes Cowart of Donalds, and the late Grady Cowart. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and worked as a carpenter.
Surviving in addition to his mother are: one brother, Robert “Bobby” Cowart and wife Vickie of Ware Shoals; three sisters: Linda Elaine Cothran and husband Theron of Ware Shoals, Frankie Cowart Johnson and husband Jerry of Honea Path, and Sara Cowart Lynch and husband Cecil of Honea Path.
He was predeceased by three sisters: Brenda Hinton, Susan Rice, and Sandy O’Craine.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Broadmouth Baptist Church, with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating.
