J.R. Hughes
Ware Shoals – James Richard Hughes, 83 of 2582 Mount Bethel Road, husband of Willie Adair Hughes, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Ashley House in Greenwood.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Larkin Hughes and Lillian Mitchell Hughes. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, lifetime member of Princeton Lodge #129 and was formerly a self-employed contractor.
Surviving are his wife of the of the Ashley House in Greenwood, three sons; Mike Hughes and wife Debby of Laurens, Rick Hughes and wife Karen of Ware Shoals and Charles Hughes of Piedmont, one daughter; JoAnn Hughes Gary and husband Tommy of Ware Shoals, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother; Larkin Hughes, Jr.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday at Harmony United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas and Rev. Lamar Babb officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery
