Brown Setterlind, Jr.

Belton – Carl Brown Setterlind, Jr., 78, husband of Linda Evans Setterlind, of 437 Forest Lane, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Rainey Hospice House.

 

Born in Washington County, Fl., he was the son of the late Carl Brown Setterlind, Sr. and Annie Lou Richardson Setterlind. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and was a retired Minister of Music. After graduating from Florida State University, he received a Master of Sacred Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He had served at the following churches: First Baptist Church of Belle Grade, Fl., College Park Baptist Church of Orlando, Fl., Wayside Baptist Church of Miami, Fl., First Baptist Church of Tifton, Ga., Southside Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Fl., First Baptist Church of Valdosta, Ga., and Second Baptist Church of Belton, SC.

Surviving with his wife are his two sons, Carl Brown Setterlind, III and wife Michelle of Asheville, N.C., and their children, Carl Brown IV, Jordan, John, Nick, Jacob, and Lauren; and John Setterlind and wife Gina of Morganton, N.C. and their children, Savannah, Lily, and Carly; and his two sisters, Ann Laird of Ruskin, Fl. And Jenelle Rollin of Dallas, Tx. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Linda Taylor and Carrie Terry.

The family will receive friends at Honea Path First Baptist Church from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Friday prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Private burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
