Brenda Faye Woods Young

Brenda Faye Woods Young, 64, of Trenton, South Carolina died Saturday April 27 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a long courageous battle with cancer.  Brenda was the wife of the late Phillip Wayne Young for 30 years. 

 

Brenda was born in Abbeville County on February 5, 1949, but lived most of her life in Aiken and Edgefield counties.  She was employed with the Imerys/Kentucky-Tennessee Clay Company in Langley for 29 years.  She considered the people she worked with as her second family. 

Mrs. Young is the eldest child of Harvey H. Woods of Florence and the late Mary Frances Beasley.  She is survived by a sister Freda Burnette and husband Don of Spartanburg, SC, a sister Cheryl Johnson and husband Claude of Effingham, SC , and a brother William Woods and wife Susan of York, SC.  She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews Angie Duncan and husband Jason, Colby Burnette and wife Krisi, Cassie Godfrey and husband Josh, Stephen and Jeffrey Burnette, Melissa and Mandy Johnson, Andy Woods, and Kadi Edwards and husband Jimmy.  She was also loved by eight great nieces and nephews. 

It was Mrs. Young’s desire that all her family members and friends come to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who had sustained her throughout her life and during her long illness.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalds, South Carolina.  The family will meet friends following the service at the gravesite. 

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Hospice of Aiken, SC (690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, SC 2980l) or the Spartanburg Regional Hospice of Spartanburg, SC (686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC).
