Charles Ansel "Hump" Campbell

Honea Path – Charles Ansel “Hump” Campbell, 90, widower of Edith Louise Mabry Campbell, formerly of Honea Path, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Houston Texas.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late James Ansel and Freddie Leo Pitts Campbell. He was a member of Honea Path Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a retired 20 year veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII, the Korean Conflict, the Lebanon Crisis and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was retired from Monsanto and was a Life Member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M.

Surviving are: a son, Charles Leonard Campbell of Houston, TX, a daughter, Janet Campbell Ramey of Houston, TX, a brother, Tommy Campbell of Honea Path, four grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Luther Campbell and a grandson, Berry Austin Ramey, Jr.

Graveside services with full military honors and Masonic Rites will be held at 2PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Deborah Broadwell officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 9 to 11 A.M. at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path, SC.
