Catharine Smith

High Point, N.C. - Catharine Lyle Smith, 101, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge with her family by her side. She was born in Edgemoor, S.C. to the late Lafayette Strait Lyle and Frances Catharine Robinson. Catharine attended Winthrop College. She married William Henry Smith in 1939, and he passed away in 1967. Before moving to the Presbyterian Home and then River Landing she lived in Thomasville, N. C. and was very active in the First Presbyterian Church there.

 

Catharine is survived by two sons, William Henry Smith and wife May of Clermont, Ga., and Lafayette Lyle Smith and wife Monte of High Point, N.C. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 19,2013 at Greenville Presbyterian Church in Donalds with Rev. Jonathan Bowling officiating. Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials should be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360. Parker-White-Pruitt Funeral Home and Crematory, Honea Path, in charge of arrangements.
