Doris Street

Honea Path – Doris Gwendolyn Street, 85, of 208 West Oak Drive Ext., went home to live with Jesus on June 20, 2013.

Until her health declined, she was an active member at Austin Road Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, delivered church sermon tapes to the shut-ins, visited the sick, the lonely and bereaved.  She loved the beauty of flowers and birds and enjoyed gospel music and Christian television.

During her life she worked as a dental hygienist and retired from the Parke-Davis Company in Greenwood, SC, where she was a quality control inspector.

Drew Martin officiating.  Burial to follow in the Garden of Memories where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved son, Julius David Massey who the Lord called home on May 31, 2008 and whom she has missed beyond words.  The family will receive friends from 2-3 prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ who blessed them by placing such a precious saint in their lives while she was here on earth.  The earth was blessed when God sent Doris, an angel in a mortal body, to share the love of Jesus here on earth.
