Waterloo – Major Dean Taylor. 67 of 931 Dillard Road, husband of Melda Satterfield Taylor died Tuesday at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Abbeville county, he was a son of the late Prue W. Taylor and Rossie Clinkscales Taylor. He was retired from Monsanto and was a member of Keowee Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and friend to all and was an avid softball player and fan.

Surviving are his wife of the home, four sons; Ronnie Taylor and wife Cherry of Donalds, Jimmy Taylor and wife Debra of Honea Path, Christopher Taylor of Honea Path and Scott Gambrell of Tennessee, one brother; Bobby Taylor of Honea Path, two sisters; Juanita Burton of Honea Path and Marjorie Elliott of Greenwood, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a sister; Sara Ellen Gambrell.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home.Graveside services will be 3 PM Friday at Keowee Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. The family is at the home of a son, Jimmy Taylor, 1016 Austin Road, Honea Path. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
