Twyla Branyon

Honea Path – Twyla Mae Wright Branyon, 81, widow of Joe Thomas Branyon, Sr., of 310 W. Oak Ave. Ext., died Friday, August 2, 2013, at NHC of Anderson.

 

 

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Myrtis Ashley Wright. She was a member of Keowee Baptist Church where she taught the 4 year old Sunday school for over 60 years. She was a volunteer with Hospice of the Upstate and an election poll worker. She retired from Honea Path Middle School where she served as the lunchroom manager for more than 25 years. She was a lifelong Clemson Tigers fan.

Surviving are: two sons, Joe Thomas Branyon, Jr and wife Eve of Andrews and David Wright Branyon and wife Anne of Honea Path, two daughters, Patty Branyon of Anderson, and Beth Branyon Napier and husband Scottie of N. Augusta, a brother, Franklin Wright and wife Barbara of Belton, a sister, Margaret Thomas of Belton, four grandchildren, Joey Branyon, John Alley, Andy Napier, and Annaruth Branyon, and four great-grandchildren, Joshlyn and Rhett Alley, and Blakely and Joseph Branyon.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Maples and NHC of Anderson for their care and attention extended to Mrs. Branyon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mize and Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Entombment will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home.
