Ware Shoals – Katherine Poore Gambrell, 96, widow or William A. “Duck” Gambrell, of 22 Saluda Ave., died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Annie Chasteen Poore. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and Circle #2. She was also Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Chapter Boyd Bobo #144.
Surviving are one son, William F. “Billy” Gambrell and a granddaughter Nicole Katherine Gambrell of Martinez, GA. She was predeceased by two brothers, Sam and Grady Poore, and a sister, Mrs. James “Juanita” Malone.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Frank Cunningham and Lt. Col. George D. Rush III USAF (ret) officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, Belton.
