Donnie Hawkins

Belton – Mr. Donnie Lee Hawkins, 70, of 205 Poplar Avenue, died Monday, October 1, 2013 at his home.

Born in Belton, he was the son of the late R. Lee Hawkins and Ruby Ashley Hawkins Drake. He was an auto salesman, retired from West Side Wholesale, LLC. He served in the Armed Forces during Vietnam, in the 5th Special Forces, where he received the following commendations: The Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Valor, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star.

Surviving are two uncles: Ronald and Winford Ashley; one aunt, Marion Bratcher; three step-brothers, and two step-sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 4th at 11:30 AM at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain (MAJ.) Walter Marshall officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans’ Cemetery.
