Naomi Elledge Godfrey

Ware Shoals – Naomi Elledge Godfrey, 93, widow of George W. Godfrey, of 10740 Highway 252, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Minnie Stone Elledge. She was a housewife and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, George Stephen Godfrey and wife Karen of Ware Shoals and Alan M. Godfrey and wife Cathy F. of Seneca, a daughter, Gena Godfrey Ridgeway and husband Kenneth Ray of  Atlanta, Ga. six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M.  Friday, November 29, 2013 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bruce Ostrom and Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
