Marion Black

Honea Path – Marion Carter Black, 99, widow of Charles Severn Black, of The Maples, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at AnMed Health Center.

 

 

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Mary Samantha Latimer Carter. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Homemakers Sunday School class, and a homemaker.

Surviving are: two sons, Larry (Dana) Black of Laurens and David (Barbara) Black of Honea Path, two grandsons, Rev. Greg and Brad Black, four great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, Casey and Bradley Black, and four great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Eunice Carter and Lillian Cason.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Black, Rev. Archie Sharpe, and Rev. James Dyar officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
