Boyd Wooten

Honea Path – Samuel Boyd Wooten, 76 of 1155 Holiday Dam Road, husband of Ann Coates Wooten died Wednesday at Hospice of the Upstate.

 

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Amos Bede Wooten and Ethel Matthews Wooten. He was a member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher of Honea Path First Baptist Church and also helped with the men’s ramp ministry of the church. He was a retired supervisor with 40 years of service from Cryovac.

Surviving are his wife of the home, one son, Jamie Wooten (Lisa); two daughters, Sandy Jordan (Perry) of Dale City, Virginia and Libby Holliday (John) of Honea Path; two sisters, Stella Owens of Belton and Elsie Alewine of Honea Path; grandchildren, Brent (Leslie) and Jeremy (Iris) Jordan of Raleigh, NC, Lindsay, Logan, Casey, Bo and Jessi Wooten all of Honea Path, Kayla Maddox (Greg) of Piedmont; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Henry, Hope and Oliver Jordan. He was predeceased by a son, Samuel Boyd Wooten, Jr.; four brothers, Bascom, Claude, Jack and B.A. Wooten and a sister, Lucille Dean.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday at Barkers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Honea Path First Baptist Men’s Ramp Ministry, 100 S.
