Born in AbbevilleCounty, he was a son of the late Major and Lillian Gambrell Smith. He was a member of ChiquolaBaptistChurch and was retired from Chiquola Mills.
Surviving are: two sons, Keith Smith of the home and Bobby Smith of N. Augusta, a brother, Robert Earl (Linda) Richey of Honea Path, and four grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Bronson and Brooke Smith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Smith, a daughter, Donna Marie Smith, and four brothers, J.C. John, Charlie and Otis Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Haynes and Rev. Homer Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to The Chiquola Baptist Church Building Fund, 405 E. Greer St, Honea Path, SC29654.
