Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Hoyt Bryson and Nellie Elizabeth Wilson Shirley. She was a member of PrincetonBaptistChurch and was a retired teacher, having worked at Hickory Tavern. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and had a strong belief in the Lord.
Surviving are one son: Wesley Knight of Waterloo; one daughter: Shirley Glancy of Honea Path; two brothers: James and Addison Shirley, both of Honea Path; one sister: Fay Vaughan of Augusta, GA; and one grandson: John Glancy of Sanford, NC. She was predeceased by one brother: Nathan Shirley; and one sister: Vivian Beach.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 14 at PrincetonBaptistChurch with Rev. Gregg Loner and Rev. David McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the PrincetonBaptistChurchCemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Wednesday at the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PrincetonBaptistChurch’s Youth Fund, at 18832 Hwy. 76 W., Honea Path, SC, 29654.
