Born in Gaston County, NC, he was a son of the late Mabel Kale Bumgardner. He was a member of Hodges United Methodist Church and was a US Army veteran. He was a life long truck driver.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: two sons, Jack Parker (Gena) Hill of Myrtle Beach, and Christopher Nicholas Howard of Bonham TX, his daughter, Stephanie (Fred) West of Bessemer City NC, two brothers, Scott (Rose) Bumgardner of Lincolnton NC, and Gene Bumgardner of Bessemer City, NC, two sisters, Melaeh Deaton(Bill) of Lincolnton NC and Tonda Kellum(Johnny) of Carolina Beach NC, six grandchildren, Aundrea Hughes, Elijah Morse, Ethan Hill, Destiny Howard, Timothy Rogers and Paige Hill, and his special “MaMa”, Helen Burroughs of Donalds.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Bowling officiating.
