Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Eldridge and Lassie Ramey Pelfrey. He was retired from Riegel Textile Co.
Surviving are a son Jerry Pelfrey of Laurens, a step - son Juan Thomason of Honea Path, nine brothers, and four grandchildren Michael and Brian Pelfrey, Luana Burdette, and Dionne Pavener. He was predeceased by a son Michael Pelfrey, two brothers and a sister.
Graveside service will be held at 3PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Tyson officiating.
