Born in Dardanelle, Arkansas she was a daughter of the late Cecil Calvin and Evelyn Boland Hamilton. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and was a retired paralegal. She was twice married, first to the late William Loyd Smith.
Surviving are a son Jim Smith (Cindy) of Ware Shoals, a daughter Debbie Ashlock(Jerry) of Patterson, California, a brother Randell McCoy of Rousseau, Kentucky, two sisters, Ruby Layton of Oak Grove, La. and Pat Sylvia of New Iberia, La., six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Ilene Griffith and Cecilia Hamilton.
