Blanche Jones

Ware Shoals – Mamie Blanche Cook Jones, 94, widow of Charlie Yeargin Jones, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Seth Dee and Mamie Mahala Cook. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, where she was very active in the A.D.Y. group. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. Blanche loved flowers and gardening.

Surviving are: a sister Barbara (Dennis) Marsh of Ware Shoals, two daughters-in-law, Susan Driver Jones of Iva and Frances Brabham of Greenwood, two grandchildren, Lisa (Jim) Ravencraft of Greenwood, and Thomas Ray (Elaina) Jones of Anderson, two great-grandchildren, Zachary (Genevieve) Ravencraft of Summerville and Jennifer Rhodes of Greenwood, and special friend and caregiver, Trudy Compton.

She was predeceased by two sons, Charlie Ray Jones and Thomas Darrell Jones, two brothers Paul and John Cook, and six sisters, Sherden Pulley, Ola Outz, Annie Lee Davis, Catherine Owens, Evelyn Johns Hewitt, and Rachael Pitts.

Services and entombment will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with Rev. Leon Jones officiating.
