Born 94 years ago in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Edward F. Owens and Tempie Chapman Owens. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and retired from Union Carbide.
Surviving are a son Broadus F. (Zelma) Timms of Hodges, two daughters, Betty T. Hatcher (Eddie) of Honea Path and Ann T.(Sam) Williamson of Hodges, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont 408 West Alexander Ave Greenwood, SC 29646 or Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
