Evelyn Fields Herring

Honea Path – Evelyn Eugenia Hill Fields Herring, 75, of 206 Heyward Avenue, widow of Dwight Herman Herring, Sr., died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alvin and Helen Allen Hill. She attended Bethany World Outreach Center, and was retired from Milliken. She was a loving and caring wife and mother, and was a special caregiver to shut-ins. She was twice married, first to the late Cecil Fields.

Surviving are: two sons, Cecil Junior Fields and wife Joyce and Larry Dean Fields and wife Teresa all of Honea Path; one daughter, Teresa Fields Gilmer and husband Mike of Honea Path who were her caregivers; one brother, Ronnie Hill of Honea Path; two sisters, Jeanette Flowers of Belton and Shirley Surrett of Abbeville; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one step-son: Dwight Herman Herring, Jr., and wife Gwyn. She was predeceased by one daughter: Deborah Jane Fields McCuen; one brother: Marion Hill; and one sister: Joyce Brown.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Knight and Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Flowers will be graciously accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
