Roger Owens

Ninety Six – Roger Dale Owens, 61, husband of Angela Marie Lipe Owens, of 2912 Highway 702 died Saturday at his home.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Willie Burton Walker and the late I.V. Owens. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Greenwood and was a mechanic at Smith’s Tire and Service. He was twice married, first to the late Sharon Denise Needham.

Surviving are his wife of the home, five sons, Dale Owens, Chris Lipe (Shannon), James Fleming (April), and Rodney Lipe, all of Greenwood and Johnny Ray Fleming of Anderson, two daughters, Michele Turner (Ronnie) of Greenwood and Amy Leopard (Hobie) of Ninety Six,, four brothers, Coy Owens, Larry Owens, Charles Owens, and Donald Owens all of Anderson, three sisters, Dottie Lee, Lena Owens, and Lucy Owens, all of Anderson, a granddaughter raised in the home, Alyson Lipe, twenty grandchildren, and his mother-in-law, Marie Lipe of Greenwood.

He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Crayton Owens, Wilton Owens, and Howard Owens, a sister, Margie Raines, and two grand-daughters.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Derrick Rash officiating.
