Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Raymond Babb and Catherine Rhodes Caldwell. After his father’s untimely death, he was raised by his step-father, the late Doc Caldwell. He was a member of Honea Path First Assembly of God and retired from Santens of America. Archie loved to sing and work in his yard.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 55 years of the home are: his son, Donnie Babb, Jr. of Anderson, two daughters, Robin Booth of Elgin and Kris Stewart of Honea Path, two brothers, Jimmy (Louise) Babb of Pelzer and Frances (Eleanor) Babb of Piedmont, a sister, Joann Phillips of Pelzer, four grandchildren, Shana (Nick) Vipperman, Travis Stewart, Brandon (Krystal) Mattison and Kole Stewart, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andrew Overby, Rev. Homer Gilmer, and Rev. Chris Jarrard officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends 12noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
