Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Barnell P. and Rachel Simpson Fields. He worked as an auto body mechanic, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Fields is survived by eight nephews: Owen Fields, Scott Fields, Richie Fields, Keith Fields, Shannon Martin, Brian Ross, and Christopher Newton, six nieces: Tammie Dutton Dyar, Dollie Williamson, Rita Poeppel, Angie Gilstrap, Crystal Stockton, and Rhonda Brooks; and three step-children: George Moore, Richard Moore, and Irena Moore Spradley.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Joyce Duvall and Judy Dutton McGee; three brothers, Charles Fields , Richard Fields and Jerry Fields; three nephews: Randall Duvall, Curtis Duvall, and Gary Dutton; and one niece: Terry Duvall.
