Dink Rhodes

Donalds – Major Eugene “Dink” Rhodes, 81, husband of Norma Faye Alewine Rhodes, of 576 Williamston Hill Road, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late J.B. and Ethel Gambrell Rhodes. He  was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired mechanic. He was a founding member of the Broadmouth Turkey Creek Fire Department, an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and always loved his two pets, Tiny and Buddy.

Surviving are his wife of the home, two daughters, Tammy Stewart (Keith) of Honea Path, and Tina Reeves (Randy) of Donalds, a brother, David Rhodes of Donalds, a sister, Mildred Brock of Donalds, seven grandchildren, T.J. Rhodes, Brittny (Bett), Matthew, Anthony (Ashley), Christina (Thomas), Catlin, and Christopher, and six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Lydia, Abbi, Olivia, Autumn, and Hunter.

He was pre-deceased by a son, Terry Rhodes, six brothers, J.C., Edgar, William, Charles, Jimmy Ray, and J.B. Rhodes, Jr., three sisters, Frances Kernells, Linda Weathers, and Patsy Vaughn, and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Rhodes.

Graveside services will be held at 4 P.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Broadmouth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Justin Phillips and Mr. Tommy McClinton officiating.
