Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Rebecca Ashley Smith and the late Earl McGowan Smith. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Abbeville and employed by Daniel Construction Company.
Surviving are his mother of Greenwood, a brother, Mike Smith (Diane) of Ware Shoals, a sister, Judy Barry of West Columbia, a niece, Lacey “Rosebud” Griffin (Chris) of Ninety-Six, a nephew, Scott Davenport of Lexington, several great-nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, “Butch”. He was pre-deceased by a great-niece, Regan Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of his brother, Mike Smith, 15327 Indian Mound Road, Ware Shoals and will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home.
