Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Bluford Day and Maybelle Wren Day Davenport. She attended Donalds Church of God and was retired from Kemet, where she worked as a Quality Control Inspector.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Higdon is survived by one son: Deryl Higdon and wife Donna of Donalds; one daughter Patty Marshall of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is pre-deceased by son, Keith Higdon; one brother Marion “Nip” Day: two sisters, Roberta Weathers and Barbara Human; and one granddaughter: Taylor Marshall.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery.
