Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late Lee W. and Annie Manley Balentine. She was a long time faithful member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corp where she worked as a corporate purchasing agent.
She is survived by two sons, C. Matthew Mahaffey Jr of Lexington, J. Scott Mahaffey (Teresa) of Ware Shoals, two brothers, Manley Balentine of Ninety-Six and Buddy Balentine of Ware Shoals, two grandchildren, Tanner Swink and Heath Swink (Kayla) and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Leander “Buck” and J. Harold Balentine.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Balentine, Cameron Balentine, Buck Balentine, Patrick Jackson, Jimmy Balentine, and Lee Balentine. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Mahaffey, Stanley Mahaffey, Keith Thompson, Mike Thompson, and Steve Balentine.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 3 PM at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
