J.E. Cooper

Ware Shoals – John Edwin Cooper, 80, formerly of South Greenwood Ave., widower of  Sudie Prince Cooper, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at National Health Care in Laurens.

Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late William Roy and Sara Ann Wood Cooper. He was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and was retired owner of Coopers Service Station and Wrecker Service.

Surviving are a two sons, Johnny Cooper (Cynthia) of Summerville,  Gary Ashley (Teresa) of Honea Path, a brother, William Lee Cooper (Donna) of Tabor, N.C., two sisters, Eunice Ann Cooper Fowler of Ridgeland and Dr. Nancy Cooper McDonald (Joe) of Athens, GA, and five grandchildren, Trey, Bryce, and Jack Cooper, Nichole Raines, and Tracy Wood.

He was pre-deceased by two daughters, Irene Holloway and Vickie Inglehart, a brother William Roy Cooper and a sister, Cleo Jane Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:30 TO 3 PM Sunday at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Caris Hospice, 446 East Cambridge Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
