He was the son of the late Christopher F. And Irma Brown Bence. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church.
He is survived by son Chris Allan Bence and wife Stacy of Belton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Letha Alice Brewer of Columbia.
A graduate of Colorado State University, he was a retired Air Force Captain having completed 23 years active duty. He retired from BASF Corporation’s Anderson IT Department in 1999. He worked part-time as bookkeeper and tax preparer for McCall Golden Bookkeeping and Tax Service in Honea Path until 2011.
Serivces will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
