Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Simuel Harley and Laura Mabry Brissey. He was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church where he was a deacon and had served as Music Director and Sunday School Teacher He was retired from Riegel Textile Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Patsy Jackson ( Don) of Ware Shoals and Martha Anderson of Westminster, five grandchildren, Patrick (Shanon) Jackson, Brooks (Pamela) Jackson, Neely (Ryan) Abernathy, Billy (Christie) Anderson, and Lee (Marty) Wallen, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Mt.
