Born in Princeton, she was a daughter of the late John and Flora Harper Scott. Mrs. Ashley was the oldest member of Chiquola Baptist Church, and was still active in the church until the last few weeks before her death. She was retired from Chiquola Manufacturing after more than 50 years of service. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are: her son, Tony (Pat) Ashley of Honea Path, her daughter, Claudette Thomas of Grenada MS, four grandchildren, Scarlette (Michael) Manning, Stephanie (Kevin) Steed, Chris Ashley, and Jessica (Jarrett) Brown, and seven great-grandchildren, John (Kaitlyn) Manning, Jake Manning, Ashley Manning, Katie-Noelle Steed, Leggett Stead, Ava Brown and Aleesa Brown.
Mrs. Ashley is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, three sisters, and a son-in-law, Edison Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
