Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Avery and Ada Pryor Medlock. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and had worked at Riegel Textiles and Honea Path Shirt Plant.
Surviving are: a son, James Olen Gambrell of Honea Path, five daughters, all of Honea Path, Mary Ann (Tommy) McDowell, Retha Marie King, Donna Jean (Wayne) Thompson, Katharine Renee Bailey, and Rebecca Pauline (Jeff) Owens, eight grandchildren, Julie Todd, Jason McDowell, Ada Ellis, Avery Dunagen, Amber Bradley, Misty Hendrix, Deandra Davis and Sierra Owens, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Gambrell is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, a son, Dennis Avery Gambrell, six brothers, three sisters, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Columbia Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Hart and Rev. Travis Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
