Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Capers and Clara Wingo Wood. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU. She was a homemaker and a member of the D.A.R. Sullivan Dunklin Chapter.
Surviving are her husband of the home, four sons, Keith Batson of Ware Shoals, David Batson (Sherylan) of Waterloo, Don Batson of Ware Shoals, and Brian Batson (Lisa) of Charleston, nine grandchildren, Nicholas Batson (Kelli), Cameron Batson, Natalie Mims (Michael), Lydia Bouknight (Daniel), Amber Bonetti (Jonathan), Jordan Batson, Braden Batson, Emily Batson, and Daniel Batson, four great-grandchildren, Madilynn, Annette, Batson Neil, and Emory. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Eugenia Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Pastor Bruce Ostrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
