Lou Fisher

Honea Path – Lou Emma McCurry Fisher, 98, of The Maples, past away Friday, September, 28, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House.

 

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Estelle Lee McCurry. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher of the Senior Adults Class, was a member of WMU, and had managed the Church Pantry. She was formerly employed by Chiquola Mills, helped manage The Jiffy Burger, and retired from Anderson School District #2, having worked in the cafeteria of all district schools. Mrs. Fisher was a patient sitter well into her 80’s and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are: special friends, Jerrell and Susan Shaw of Honea Path, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Harold Delane Fisher, three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Powell and the Honorable Mark Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:30 – 3 P.M. prior to the service.
