Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late James Roy, Sr. and Alice Greer Gambrell. He was a member of Little River Baptist Church where he taught the Adult Men’s Sunday School class for 50 years and was a Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Gambrell was a retired accountant.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 64 years of the home are: his daughter, Gina (Charles) Dieterich of Greenville. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Fuller and Rev. Garrett Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
