Marion Banks

Donalds – Marion Virginia Lindsay Banks, 80, widow of Clyde Banks, of Bell Road, died Thursday, December 27, 2018.

 

Born in Honea Path, she was the eldest daughter of 12 children born to the late Roy Clifton and Evelyn Branyon Lindsay. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Sudie Milford Sunday School Class. Mrs. Banks was retired from Greenwood Mills.

Surviving are: two daughters, Susie Crawford of Greenwood and Crystal Thomson of Ware Shoals; a brother, Olin (Ruth) Lindsay of Belton; seven sisters, Judy (Wayne) Knight, Carolyn (Jimmy Brock) Ashley, Clara (Skeet) Ashley, and June (Ronnie) Gambrell, all of Honea Path, Jeanette Reed of Belton, Betty (Bill) Wilson of Williamston, and JoAnne (Dan) Sellers of Anderson; six grandchildren, Haylee (Deven) Chastine, Kelsey Crawford, Hunter Crawford, Anna Ruth Thomson, Josiah Thomson, and Jonathan Thomson; numerous nieces and nephews, and her grand-dog, Carly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Ray Douglas “Sonny”, Welton David “Doodle”, and Donald Hugh " Duck” Lindsay; a granddaughter, Gloria Zoe Thomson, a niece, Kimberly Ashley, a nephew, Kenneth Reed, and long time friend and companion, Lester McCall.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Babb officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park. The family request that if possible, friends and family wear red to the funeral service, as this was Mrs. Banks favorite color.

Pallbearers will be Deven Chastine, Hunter Crawford, Anna Ruth Thomson, Josiah Thomson, Chad Grover and Matthew Grover.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Providence Baptist Church

The family is at the home of her daughter Susie, 100 Ligon Road, Greenwood, SC 29649 and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 408 W.
