Clyde Phillips

Honea Path – Ludy Clyde Phillips, 92, widower of Ruby Rogers Phillips, formerly of Rodgers Road, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Abbeville Nursing Home.

 

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Tarrence and Ethel Roark Phillips. He was a member of Chiquola United Methodist Church and the retired owner of Phillips Construction. Mr. Phillips was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. and was a Hejaz Shriner.

Surviving are: his son, Donnie (Louise)  Phillips of Honea Path; two daughters, Kathy (Vincent) Dibona of Greenwood and Karen (Frank) Thomas of Waterloo; four sisters, Hazel Holliday of Belton, Katie Belle Lollis of Donalds, Lois Phillips of Honea Path, and Betty Malone of Honea Path; six grandchildren, Bud (Kayla) Thomas, April (Charles) Mauldin, Holly (Adam) Futch, Nicholas Dibona, Brent (Dawn) Phillips, and Bridget Cunningham; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, seven brothers, Alton, Furman, Bob, Jim, David, Jerry, and Claude Phillips; and three sisters, Lily Mae Lollis, Inez Gambrell and Ruth Gunnells

Memorial services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonsie Brewer and Rev. Bill Lowe officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 W.
