Jimmy McClain

Ware Shoals – James R. “Jimmy” McClain, 77, husband of Jerry Cook McClain, of Green Acres Drive, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

 

Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Jack and Mattie Lou Tollison McClain. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Jimmy was a member of Abbeville High School Class of 1961, where he played football. He was a former member of the Jaycee’s and was retired from Fluor Daniel.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: two sons, Kenneth McClain of Ware Shoals and Scott (Kim) McClain of Abbeville; his daughter, Kim (Hank) McCrickard of Greenwood; three grandchildren, John McCrickard, Devin McCrickard, and Karson McClain; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Elizah, Jacob, and Raelynn McCrickard; a special nephew, Keith (Melinda) White of Greenwood; a great-niece, Carly White; and a special cousin, Janice Bird of Ware Shoals. He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
