Armelia Griffin

Ware Shoals – Armelia Elizabeth Chapman Griffin, 97,  widow of William Griffin formerly of Griffin Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Beulah Phillips Chapman. She was a homemaker and a member of Beech Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and had attended Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy in her later years.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy Lee Griffin of Ware Shoals, three daughters, Betty Jo Griffin of Orangeburg, Judy Reynolds of Ware Shoals, and Teresa Poore of Ware Shoals, two brothers, Larry Chapman of Williamston and Bill Chapman of Ware Place, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, a daughter, Margaret Amick,  brothers, Clyde Chapman,Lawrence Chapman, Carl Chapman, and Rev. John B. Chapman, asisters, Sara Davis, Ella Mae Chapman, and Patricia Chapman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Susan Allen and Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM on Tuedsay at the church prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at
