Thelma Magaha

Greenville – Thelma Ophelia Bratcher Magaha, 78, widow of Kye Junior Magaha, of Tampa Street died  Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the home of her daughter.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late John Benjamin and Janie Beatrice Campbell Bratcher. She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired after 31 years as a Teachers Aide from Duvall County, Fl. Schools. She had raised numerous foster children over the years.

Surviving are two sons, Johnny K. Magaha (Lisa Ann) of Taylors and Jesse Ray Smith (Christina) of Jacksonville, Fl., a daughter Jeanne Magaha of Greenville, a brother, James Bratcher of Greenville, two sisters, Cynthia Stancil and Rachel Philyaw both of Greenville, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Karen Waters, a brother, Ronnie Dale Bratcher, Sr., and a grandson Zachary Ryan Magaha.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel, Honea Path with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Winona Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Jeanne Magaha, Watkins Road, Greenville and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path prior to the service.
