Mike Giles

Ware Shoals – Frank Mike Giles, 75 husband of 57 years of Nora Mae Gregory Giles, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Albuquerque, NM he was a son of  Margaret Medlin Giles and the late Frank Edward Giles. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church.

He retired from Solutia and continued to do Valve Repair work for various other companies for several years. Mike devoted his life to his children and grandchildren. Their Papa could do anything, from fixing a wheel on a bike to driving all night to go get a grandchild’s truck running. He loved going to Rodeos and Horse Shows and watching his children and grandchildren compete and encouraging them all the way. He and his son rebuilt motors for cars and worked all hours of day and night to get them just the way they wanted them. He was a good man.

Surviving are  his wife of the home, his mother of Greenwood, a son, Michael Scott Giles (Marlene) of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Merrie Elizabeth (Beth) Kidd (Chet)  of Statesville, N.C, a brother, Kenneth Nelson Giles of Ware Shoals, four grandchildren, Cory Kidd, Tyler Kidd, Jadia Giles, and Bailey Scott Giles, and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Karlie Giles…

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Wood officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Holiday Church, 67 East Cork Street, Ware Shoals, SC 29692 Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
