Born in Belton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Allen Drake and Frances Irene Davis Southern. She was a faithful member of Columbia Baptist Church, where she was the nursery teacher for over 40 years. She was formerly employed in textiles for 26 years and a waitress for over 40 years.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 44 years of the home are: her beloved daughter, Crystal Elaine Banks of the home; two sisters, Jane (Butler) Bedwell and Ann (Jimmie – deceased) Banks, both of Princeton; special nieces and nephews, Leigh Ann (Adam) Dorsey, Hannah (Josh) Fields, Jason Banks, and Lathan (Stephanie) Bedwell; special great-nieces and great-nephews, Joshua Dorsey, Alex Dorsey, Caroline Dorsey, and Cadence Banks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Columbia Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Brooks and Rev. Dale Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Honorary Escorts will be members of Honea Path EMS and the Honea Path Dialysis Staff.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the church from 1-2 P.M. Thursday prior to the service.
