Born in Greenville he was a son of Mary Ellen Stone Maddox and the late William R. Maddox. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are his mother of North Charleston, a son, Richard R. Maddox, one sister, Janet Lavender of North Charleston, one niece, Melanie Jean Lavender of North Charleston and a great-nephew Jordan Hamilton Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Wednesday, prior to the service at Pruitt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
