Waterloo – Alfred Benton Free, 84, of Riverfork Road, husband of Silver Tinsley Free, died Tuesday, November 05, 2019 at National Health Care in Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Carroll Lockart and Marie Madden Free. He was of the Holiness faith, a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War, and was retired from Cornet of Ware Shoals. He had previously worked for many years at Roberts Foundry of Greenwood.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Alfred Benton Free, Jr. (Jennifer) of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Dollie Hodges (Riegel) of Waterloo, a brother James Marion Free of Baltimore, MD, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Floyd Free.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Irby and Rev. Greg Holliday officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
