Born in Atlanta, GA, she was a daughter of the late M. H. and Felicia Tolly Courtenay. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. A 1957 graduate of Honea Path High School, a contestant in the Miss America Pageant representing the Town of Honea Path. Linda worked in child care for many years in Honea Path and retired from Chiquola Baptist Church Daycare.
Surviving are her husband, John, of the home, three sons, Shawn Knox (Michelle) of Honea Path, Courtenay Knox (Christy) of Belton, and Fred Knox (Kristal) of Honea Path, her mother-in-law, Mae Coker Knox of Honea Path, and four grandchildren, Caleb Knox, Marissa Knox, Gabbi Knox, and Monroe Knox. and two nieces Rita Slagle of Powder Springs, GA and Sue Simmons of Pawley's Island. She was predeceased by a sister Nina C. Scaife.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Powell and Dr. Jerry White officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
