Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Furman Wesley and Nellie Mae Bagwell Vaughn. He was an active member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Friendship Baptist Church. Having retired from Solutia, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid gardener and antique car enthusiast.  He was a member of Woodman of the World.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a daughter, Jodie Lynn Fleming and husband Kristopher of Belton, two brothers, Roger Vaughn and Larry Vaughn, both of Honea Path, two sisters, Doris Fleming of Honea Path and Linda Powell of Belton, and two grandchildren, Dalton Fleming and Kaitlyn Fleming. He was predeceased by a brother Ralph Vaughn and a sister, Nellie Ruth Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Hodges and Rev. Justin Sutherland officiating. Interment will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 26, 2019 in the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 4 to 5 PM Sunday at Friendship Baptist church prior to the service.
